View the EEI_Refund_Policy_and_Procedure - Attach certified copies of the following supporting documents with your application and either email it to edumarketing@empyrean.wa.edu.au or bring the original/certified copies of the documents to EEI:
i. Passport
ii. Evidence of English Competency (IELTS or ELICOS certificates or other English certification)
iii. Academic results from either highschool or a qualification completed after high school
iv. Australian visa (if you already have one)
v. If you would like to apply for Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL)/credit transfers, you will need to provide your previous/current study testimonials, statement of attainment, work experience details, current resume/cv or any other relevant documents, i.e. letters from schools or employers etc
vi. Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) – Please note that international students are required to have OSHC for the entire period of their intended study in Australia - Return the application to:

Student Services
Airport Pick Up and Transfer
Empyrean can arrange for a personal airport meeting and pickup service at either the Perth International or Domestic airports for international students when they first arrive in Perth, Western Australia. This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Bookings are essential. To use this service, International students must advise the Institute or their local representative of the following details at least five working days in advance:
- Date of arrival
- Time of arrival (local Perth time)
- Airline/flight number
Accommodation Assistance
International students that require some assistance to find suitable accommodation can request to the Institute when they enroll. Students should indicate their preference of the type of accommodation they prefer which can include any of the following options:
- Shared flat or apartments
- Homestay
- Youth hostel
Academic and Welfare Counseling Services
All the staff at Empyrean including the lecturers and administration staff are always available to help students with any queries or concerns they have which may include academic or personal problems. Common problems associated with being an international student, such as stress, homesickness, difficulties with language and culture shock can all be addressed in confidential and help advised at no cost to the student.
Industry Placement and Work Experience
Industry Placement forms a crucial part of many of the courses at Empyrean. Students will have the opportunity to practice and apply their training at real life events held at Empyrean’s other facilities of a function centre, theatre and bar. With live work experience, students will be able to take their qualifications and have a lot more confidence going into the workforce when they graduate.
Dress Code
All students at Empyrean are required to purchase and wear the required Empyrean polo shirt to class with black pants or black skirt and enclosed flat black shoes.
Student Requirements
The Institute fees paid include the cost of all training and course materials. Students are required only to bring their own note paper, writing materials, calculator and folders.
Health Insurance
International students are required to have overseas student health cover (OSHC) for the full duration of their student visa. Students who choose for Empyrean to organize their health cover, will have their payments processed for Medibank as the preferred provider. The cost of health insurance can be advised when students complete an application form and also from the Medibank website at www.medibank.com.
Students Under 18 Years of Age
Empyrean policy prevents International students under the age of 18 from registering in Empyrean courses and programs.
Orientation Program
Prior to starting the course at Empyrean, on the first day of every intake there is a compulsory orientation program that all new students are required to attend. At orientation, students will be introduced to the Institute, welcomed to the Empyrean family, provided information about their course, meet all the training staff, go on a campus tour and learn all the policies and procedures for the Institute. During the orientation students will be provided with a student card, their class timetable, the student handbook and information pack on Industry Placement. Students will also be advised of all other information relating to their study requirements.
ESOS ACT
The institute's policies and procedures for international students are in accordance with the Australian Government Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act 2000, Australian Quality Training Framework for Registered Training Organisations, National Code of Practice for Registration of Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students and Vocational Education and Training Act 1990.
